Where car parts are concerned, it's one thing to know what you want when you want to replace them, it's another thing telling someone what you want in a manner that helps you to get it. I mean, it's simple enough isn't it, your engine has packed up, you want a new one. Easy, right ? Well, it can be as straightforward as that, but not knowing the pieces of information held on your car can lead to buying the wrong item - especially when buying at distance.
When people request quotes through our service, we ask customers to give us as much information as they can regarding their car, and the part that they wish to replace. Obviously the basics, such as whether it's a petrol or diesel vehicle can help avoid any basic misunderstandings. When buying an engine, an engine code can enable members of our network of dismantlers to drill right down to the type of engine required, and in some cases other engines which might be able to do the job for that make of car. Colour codes are always useful when purchasing external parts such as bumpers or doors.
As well as the above information, the trim level of a car is always useful, as it acts as a shorthand for the manufacturer and indeed our dismantlers - enabling them to know if they have exact copies of that type of car.
When people use our service, they more than likely will recieve multiple quotes. We always recommend that people make a note of the quotes they recieve, before acting on the best quote for them - if at all. We find that giving us detailed information for the car part that customers need up front is a sure-fire way to ensuring that the quotes you recieve are as relevant as possible. It saves you time, it saves our members time, and ensures that you get the best service you can from us.
